Don’t Drift Away from God
What are you anchoring yourself to? Is it the ways of the world or the Word of God?
The world has a way of dangling shiny objects in front of us that entice us. Like a lure on a hook hoping to catch the big fish. These “things” often provide momentarily satisfying results, but often leave us feeling unfulfilled. The enemy knows he can draw you in with quick fixes that will make you feel good, but we can’t lead our lives with our feelings.
Instead, drop your anchor in the Bible. Cast your line and hook yourself to His truth. No matter what your circumstances may be, God has the answer for you.
I saw this hold true with both Leo and Trent. Their unwavering love for Jesus spilled over into the lives of all those they encountered. Watching their faith grow in the midst of their storms provided me with peace that surpassed all understanding. I was able to release their lives into the hands of Jesus because I saw their belief. I knew they were going to Heaven. “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
So when you feel uncertain, and the compass of life has you drifting, drop your anchor on the heart of God. Only He can prevent you from going astray without purpose. Only He can navigate your life in the midst of the storm.
So don’t be a bobber bouncing along the surface of the tide. Instead sink into His love. The storm of the sea is rough on the surface, but deep beneath the dark waters you will find calmness in His light and the depths of His grace.
The peace that Jesus provides is inviolable. There is nothing that can match it. Ask Him to touch your heart and draw you closer to Him until your whole being radiates from the peace of His light.
